About Our Team
FindNotary.io was built with a simple goal: make it easy for anyone to find a qualified, active notary public in their area. We believe that access to notary services shouldn't require guesswork or outdated phone book listings.
Our Mission
Notarization is a critical step in some of life's most important transactions — buying a home, executing a power of attorney, finalizing legal documents, and more. Yet finding a nearby notary with an active commission can be surprisingly difficult.
We built FindNotary.io to solve that problem. Our directory is free to use, requires no sign-up, and is designed to surface the most relevant notary listings based on your location.
How We Source Our Data
Every listing on FindNotary.io comes from an official government source. We pull our data directly from state Secretary of State databases and notary registries — the same databases that states use to track active notary commissions.
This means our listings include verified details such as:
- Full name as registered with the state
- Commission number and status
- Commission expiration date
- Business name and address (where available)
- Service types such as mobile notary and loan signing agent
For a detailed explanation of our data methodology, see our Editorial Policy.
Our Coverage
FindNotary.io provides nationwide coverage through two complementary data layers:
Official commission records in 13 jurisdictions (over 1.5 million active notary records sourced directly from state registries):
- Alaska
- California
- Colorado
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Florida
- Hawaii
- Louisiana
- New Jersey
- New York
- Oregon
- Texas
- Washington, D.C.
Verified business contacts in 49 states and DC (over 60,000 enriched contacts across 4,000+ U.S. cities, with phone numbers, addresses, hours, and ratings).
For details on how we collect and verify each tier of data, see our Editorial Policy.
Founder
Rahim Lakhani
Founder & Editor
Rahim founded FindNotary.io after struggling to find a verified notary public for a time-sensitive estate-planning document — an experience that revealed how fragmented and out-of-date most online notary directories are. His goal with FindNotary.io is to make finding a qualified, currently-commissioned notary as straightforward as looking up a local restaurant: free, accurate, and built on official source data.

Our Values
Accuracy
We source data exclusively from official state registries. No user-submitted listings, no paid placements, no guesswork.
Transparency
Every listing shows its source data including commission numbers and expiration dates so you can verify independently.
Accessibility
Our directory is completely free to use. No sign-ups, no paywalls, no hidden fees.
Independence
Listings are determined by government data, not by who pays the most. Every active notary in our covered states is listed equally.
